The Bridge of Spain (Puente Espana)

Built in 1632, the Bridge Of Spain was just one of three bridges in Manila at the turn of the century.

Crossing the Pasig River, it connected the walled city to the Chinese section of Binondo.

The bridge was wide enough to accommodate pedestrians, horse drawn carts and the tranvia trolley system.

Later this historic bridge was replaced by the Jones Bridge.
