20 year old Anita Agoncillo Noble of Lemery becomes the first Miss Philippines at the first National Beauty Contest of the 1926 Manila Carnival.
Manila Carnivals were held from years 1908 to 1939.
Each carnival was a two week fair to celebrate United States and Philippine relations and to showcase the commercial, industrial and agricultural progress of the Philippines.
Parades, lavish shows, firework displays and the crowning of Manila Carnival Queen were highlights of these fairs.
